Massage Therapy fo TMJ Disorder, Tension Headaches & Anxiety
Facial tension, headaches, neck/shoulder pain and clicking in your jaw are all signs of possible TMJ disorder. Melissa Zubel, RMT is trained to help alleviate your symptoms and leave your treatment feeling lighter; more grounded and with decreased pain.
The TMJ treatment focuses on the head, neck, chest and face. Thermotherapy is introduced with hot and cold stones to relax muscles and decrease inflammation, cupping on the face/chest for lymphatic drainage and to help decrease fascial restrictions. Acupressure points on the face are released and an intra-oral massage (with gloved hand) can be introduced to significantly decrease trigger points and pain in jaw muscles. If you are uncomfortable with an intra-oral massage, Melissa can teach you the techniques so you can perform them on yourself as homecare. As with all massages, this treatment will be tailored to your specific needs so you can enjoy the benefits of decreased pain and tension.

Cranial Sacral Therapy
CranioSacral Therapy (CST) employs a gentle touch to bolster the nervous system, facilitating the body's natural self-correction and healing processes. Practitioners apply a delicate touch, typically weighing no more than 5 grams, equivalent to the weight of a nickel. This touch is used to release restrictions within the craniosacral system, encompassing the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that envelop and safeguard the brain and spinal cord. Research indicates that this approach enhances the central nervous system's functionality, benefiting various bodily systems including digestion, musculoskeletal, respiratory, circulatory, and more. CST has also demonstrated efficacy in addressing physical aspects associated with somatic conditions such as Post Traumatic Stress, depression, and anxiety.
