Growing up in Fort McMurray, Dr. Butz spent much of her time at the rink playing competitive hockey and exploring just about every sport she could. Her love for movement, fitness, and living an active lifestyle started early and has shaped her lifelong passion for helping others function at their best.
She went on to earn her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Alberta, where she worked as a fitness instructor and student kinesiologist for the Bears & Pandas wrestling team.
During COVID, Dr. Butz discovered Olympic weightlifting and started competing. When knee pain began to interrupt her training, she visited a chiropractor — a decision that completely changed the trajectory of her life. With chiropractic care, she quickly returned to training and was inspired to learn more about how chiropractic care helps the body function and heal naturally. Chiropractic is not just about relieving pain, but about optimizing how the nervous system functions, allowing the body to more optimally thrive & heal.
Dr. Butz graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Iowa, alongside her fiancé, Dr. Josh Preston, and together they now practice in Edmonton. She is Webster Certified and doula trained. Through her work, she aims to support women & families in every stage of life — helping them feel empowered in their bodies, connected through their pregnancies, and confident in their family’s health and wellbeing
